FOAD Thursday: My Blog Rants In Review

It has been quite a year and even before I came across the concept of Fuck Off And Die Thursdays. I loved the outlet of a blog to rant my frustrations. So with this being my blirthday week, I thought that I would revisit some of my past rants.

1. Pro-ana websites: Type in these words in any search and you come across some of the most horrific websites imaginable. These sites give anything from tips on how to remain anorexic, to what they call thinspiration which are usually pics of obese women or half-starved models and celebs such as Kate Moss or Nicole Ritchie. So for doing what is actually assisted suicide fuck off and die but on second thought just eat something damnit and cut that website crap out. I don't want to see you die. I just want you to learn how to live.

Four months into this blog, I posted a rather different post for me here. It concerned an old and dear friend who died from complications arising from this dreadful disease. I want to thank again all of those that commented on this post and helped me through that time.

2. Whiney-Assed Pro Athletes: The current age of fighting for the biggest contracts has taken a lot out of pro sports. Gone are the days where most athletes play hard for their team now they play for a photo op so that they can get a highlight on ESPN Sportscenter. Nothing screamed this more than the Peyton Manning story after their loss in the AFC Playoffs last year. Click here for my take on it then and my position has not changed. It is a team sport assholes. If you want to go for individual glory take up an individual sport such as golf or tennis or fuckin' tiddly winks otherwise shut the fuck up and take it like you own a damned set.

3. Political Correctness: This blog is my space. It is for me and for those friends that I have made here in the blogosphere and those that come and read quietly in the shadows. I will always do my best to be gracious to any guest that comes to this site but I will not change what I say or the pictures I post to avoid offending anyone. If the guest does not like it then the exit is only a short click away. They will not be the first to have done so and I can guarandamntee that they won't be the last. As I stated in this story, I learned long ago that no matter what you say or how nice you try to be there will always be someone offended by the truth. And if that isn't good enough then by all means send me a shitty little e-mail and I can tell the offended person to Fuck Off And Die right here.

Next weeks FOAD post will feature the winner of the Talk Shit contest. If you haven't entered, then what are you waiting for? It isn't often that you can brag that you won Jack Shit although guest posting on this blog is a little bit of a booby prize.

Here, here, and here. You nailed each one on the head. It is terrible that there are sites that further damage peoples' self image of themselves. I agree that it is pretty much assisted suicide. Whiny ass athletes, get over yourselves. Tight ass pcers: :P pppppbbbththhbbbb

I couldn't get past number one, that's awful. I suffered from anorexia for two years and it took me another a year or so to get really get over it after I got help. It's a really horrible thing that consumes you, but you don't realize it's a problem. People don't the media's idea of what is attractive forced on them.

Why minorities are "given" liberties of being politically incorrect?

Take Dave Chapelle for example.

Wait, there is always Lou Dobbs... nevermind.

Somebody once said '' You can please some of the people some of the time, but , you can`t please all of the people all of the time''.
Like you said..to those that are thinskinned, let your finger do the walkin..FOAD.

Fuzz, sorry about your friend. That's not an easy disease to conquer.

I'm with you on the team sport rant, it takes a team to win or lose a game, not one damn individual! FOAD!

I love Thursdays for so many reasons. FOAD is one of them. I have one in my head. It makes me smile...a lot.

Read the post on your friend. Sigh. That's so rough. Sorry about losing her.

tubawench: A lot of these sites have taken the stance that if it weren't for them then those with this disease would have no where else to turn. I think that they are fooling themselves or trying to fool others.

mark: Thanks so much for sharing that. It is not often that men are thought of as having this problem. It is rare but it does happen. I congratulate you in your recovery. The world would be a far worse place without you here.

ranea: Thanks so much for that. I appreciate it.

mimi: Thanks, I certainly hope that peace has found her at last. A group of classmates including myself are trying to find some worthy memorial for the classmates that have passed. I do not know if it will be a scholarship or something else. But we wish to do something meaningful in her name and in the names of others that have moved on.

rocky jay: It is a conundrum.

phred: Amen, my brother.

green eyes: Darn tootin'.

jenna: Glad I can make you smile. Thanks, my friend is in a better place of this I must hope.

sorry about your friend fuzz
I think doing something for the classmates that have passed is wonderful, how thoughtful.
you rock!

You're 100% correct about those sites, fuzz. All they do is prey on someone's already shattered self-esteem, and it's criminal, literally, that they can get away with it.
It's funny that you should bring up the whiny athlete thing. There's a story today about Shea Hillenbrand being released by the Blue Jays for what they call "irreconcilable differences". His biggest complaint, besides not playing enough? The front office didn't congraulate him and his wife when they adopted a baby girl. Hope that skirt fits you, Shea; FOAD you putz.
This is what I have to say about political correctness; fuck off. You can't fart in the middle of a cornfield these days without someone writing a letter to their Congressman or Senator. Get over it you tree-hugging, Zima drinking asshats.
I feel much better now; thanks fuzz.

Shit contest Entry #2.
This time I am going to use those 3 topics as insults in my shit talking.

Listen hear Fuzz you needle dick kitten raping cum guzzling queen if you don't start coming up with some original posts I am going to have you lick icecream out of my ass and punch you in the face while listening to Elvis's greatest hits CD.

:P fuzzbox said...

old farts wife: Thanks but I am merely a cog in the wheel. Others are doing the footwork on this project and to them I give the credit.

bruce: That Hillenbrand story is messed up. Did he really expect the front office hold his hand? What a cry baby.

cd: What like post some you tube crap? Before you complain about my unoriginal crap get your head out of your ass and write a real post.

:P fuzzbox said...

laurie: You are absolutely right!

Crazy Dan said...

Dont take offense Fuzz I was merely entering the contest with my entry by being an ass to the judge this way if I dont win I can blame you for being butt hurt. Therefore I kill two kittens with one icecream scoop and masterbate in celebration.

After reading #2 Terrell Owens was quoted as saying, "Terrell Owens is a team player, whenever Terrell Owens has a bad game it's always the rest of the team's fault." ;-)

If you couldn't already tell, I'm not a T.O. fan.

I've heard of those anorexic sites, but I can't even go there. My daughter was first bulemic, then anorexic. 1 of the things that helped was when she was a size 0, she realized she couldn't be fat, even though she felt like it. But I have a feeling it still is a problem for her sometimes. I can't imagine anyone helping her hurt herself further with this disease.

sugar daddy: I love the fact that the blogosphere is open to all manner of views. It makes for some great blog surfing.

cd: No offense taken. Good luck.

perplexio: And now he plays where he is hated the most. Unless he is the MVP in the SuperBowl, I don't think that he will ever be forgiven for his star stunt from his 49'ers days.

jane: For many it is a life long struggle. I wish your daughter the best.

I agree wholeheartedly with 1 and 3.
1: This super skinny role model for women is just madness. I heard of an anorexic who "allowed" herself one apple wedge per day. I'm so sorry you lost some one to an eating disorder. How very, very sad.
3: You will never be able to make people happy. There will always be someone who doesn't like you or what you do. I do not go out of my way to offend anyone, and I won't make that a goal of mine. But, I've learned to accept that there will always be people who get bent out of shape over things. "See that Exit sign? That's your way out of my life. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. On second though, let it."
I have no opinion of 2 since I don't watch any pro sports. I like to watch Olympic volleyball, gymnastics and ice skating. That's about it.

CrazyDan BRAV FUCKIN' O! I have to be objectionable but right now you're running away with the contest.

Fuzz, I can't disagree with one damn thing you wrote.
What I can say is, "When are we going to have a Saint Fuzz?"
Brilliant, dude.
It would be one thing if you were just ranting but you seem to back up every thing you say. The nads...
In the words of Crazy Dan, "BRAV FUCKIN'O!"

starbender: Bigger and Better. I can only hope.

jamie dawn: I saw an interview with skinny Nicole Kidman saying that she would love to have a curvacious figure like J.Lo. so maybe things are turning around a bit.

michael: But the patron saint of what? Is there a patron saint of blogging? But you generelly have to die some gruesome death to become a saint so I think that I will opt out.

I liked your FOADs this week--all good ones.

I didn't think about the nasty death part...yoiks!
"Fuzz of Arc" does have a nice ring to it, though.

serra: Thanks, it is a great idea. I apprecate NYC Watchdog for coming up with such a great concept. I think that it is going to take off. Yours was great.

michael: That does have a nice ring. I also like St. Fuzz of Assisi. Huhhuhhuh, I said assisi.

phats: Thanks, you have to search some interesting words to come up with flipping the bird pics.
