TV Bullshit

For the most part, I do not watch series on network TV. Recently though I have been hooked on the show, 'Hero's.' It seems to really try to make an audience care about the cast and is quirky enough to keep me guessing and keep my attention. But just as I was hooked they are trying to fuck the audience again. After the last episode, the commercial stated that next week would be the last episode until next year. Damnit to fucking hell. Didn't they learn a damn thing from the Soprano's. This split the series in half for the year bullshit is the exact reason that many quit watching the mob family show and that would include myself as well. If they want to split it up then that is what fucking reruns are for. If they keep this bullshit up then the series won't be a hero it will be a big fucktarded zero.

While I am on the subject of TV, I would just like to say that the broadcasting group for ESPN's coverage of Monday Night Football has to be the most boring group of asswipes that I have ever had the displeasure of viewing. They make the freaking Weather Channel seem like must see tv. But I guess there is always the beer commercials during the game to look forward to.

The "fall" and "spring" seasons are there now because of shows like 24 and NYPD Blue, shich garnered bigger audiences when there were no reruns. That's what's being done here, in a certain way, and it's also a perfect way for the networks to get their replacement shows on without cancelling too many programs.
That said, it sucks beyond belief..

that should be which, not shich.
I really need to stop blogging after midnight...

A lot of tv shows are doing this now, I am not sure what I think of it.

You don't like mister PTI Tony Kornheiser(sp?) ??

Jim said...

you should write to the network as a concerned viewer and complain, since they clearly don't give a rat's ass and it would give them a good laugh

I rarely watch any series tv either. Some of the shows are so stupid its not worth turning the tv on. I have never seen the show your talking about.

I don't currently watch any regular shows. I own and watch a lot of dvd's. I don't have cable, but I am glad that network tv has a Sunday night game now. I have worked Monday nights for the last seven years so I would get home to see just part of the game. Now I can relax on Sunday and watch the game. Plus I like that they have the flexible schedule in effect so they could put in a better match-up if needed.

Perhaps they should get hot girls to do the sports shows. Beer and girls and sports. Fuzz, that's your kind of nights entertainment.

Yea i don't get why that had to fuck with monday night football so much of the last few years. It went fron one of the highest rated shows to the bottom at the same time when general ratings for NFL is at an all time high. WTF?!

Those Monday Night people suck on ESPN the GB and Seattle game was good and actually exicting in parts but they made it seem boring and long..........

As for the Hero's thing, I was hoping the case was that there were not enough episodes made and now that they know it a hit they are off to make more episodes.

It's just the big networks trying to drive the public crazier...they can have more control that way...I think they are all part of 'Big Brother' and it is all a conspiracy...

Yes, I believe they will lose a lot of audience by doing this. People are fickle and won't wait or get bored of waiting and move on.

The reason network executives never learn is because there are replaced constantly. Thus a whole new group of people to f*ck up your favorite shows ;-)

I don't understand why they would want to lose such momentum for a great new show like "Heroes."

I no longer watch Monday Night Football, as the announcers have the peronality of a paper cup.

I am OBSESSED with the show Heroes...and I was SO pissed when they made that announcement. Plus, they promised to tell us why "save the cheerleader, save the world" was the damn motto for the show...but they haven't told us CRAP yet. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!

I don't know, I'd rather they split the season in two and run new shows continously. I miss the show but at least I have something to look forward to (I love Heroes!). When they were running "Lost" straight through the holiday season with some new shows, some re-runs, some nights not showing anything, and not announcing which was which from week to week THAT really pissed me off!!

Eureka and Heroes are my favorites.
I agree.. don`t mix them all up, Dammit !

bruce: Shich should be a word. It has a certain rolling sound that I like. We just need to come up with a good definition.

phats: He has personality on PTI. I don't know what he does with it on Monday Night.

jim: By seeing what passes for Sit-coms these days, just about anything makes these yahoos laugh.

catch: It's a good show, but they will manage to screw it up.

ez: I have nightmares about antennae. When I was a kid, I was the official antennae turner. It is a thankless job to say the least.

mark: The flex schedule is the shit. They should have done it ages ago. Another idea whose time has come is NFL Replay on the NFL network. They condence the game down to about an hour by cutting out the crap between the plays. When I miss a good game on Sunday, it is good to catch it later.

ben: As long as I don't drink too much and pull a Namith.

johnny: The switch to ESPN was sheer capitulation to bring it only to sports bars and hard core Football watchers. It is sad in a way.

cd: They could have made the Ice Bowl boring.

ol' lady: They have about the same intelligence level.

angel, jr: The attention span of the average adult is probably smaller than it ever has been.

lisa: So idiocy by attrition is now the norm. That explains a lot.

phoenix: Yep, styrofoam is way more exciting than these guys.

cz: I wouldn't say that I was obsessed but I do find myself trying to bend time and space.

weirdgirl: CSI also does the re-run, new, off type of thing. It pisses me off as well.

mimi: Eureka is good but I got behind on watching it and gave it up.

phred: But they are constantly running the marathons. WTF is with that.

Haven't watched that yet, Fuzz, so I'm safe! Can't get used to this central time crap anyway, so I'm missing all my shows. Damnit! lol

Hope you are well! Hugs!

aha ok...TV is crap anyways.

I love "Heroes"! It's great!

From what I've read, the network isn't showing re-runs....so we wait until Feb (I think) for all new episodes.

It should be worth it.

:P fuzzbox said...

green eyes: So now we are in the same time zone. Cool.

keshi: True, True.

pissy: Feb? Damn, I hate waiting.

Oh I love that series. I am so hooked and totally pissed that they are splitting it up. Now we'll be regaled with outdated reruns of crappy shows and stupid Christmas shows with Ludicrus and Snoop Dawg. Cripes.

I need to watch Heroes, but yeah, that's me watching MNF, but normally with music playing since you're right, the color commentary is more drab than the walls of funeral parlor...I like your DC heroes pic here, must be the current JLA? I recognize everyone except who's between Flash and Wonder Woman....I dropped out of comics about 7 months ago because I couldn't afford it anymore

:P fuzzbox said...

wc: I don't know, A Snoop Dogg Christmas might be the shizzle. Although he better watch out and not mix up his stash with the mistletoe.

ray: That is the new look of AquaMan. He recieved a royal ass whuppin' and has come back as a real bad ass superhero not just a sidekick as in the original JLA.

i love the heroes...and im crazy about hiro the japanese kid..he rocks...it is either they stop it now and bring it back in jan or we get it preempted for christmas specials and football games...

:P fuzzbox said...

paige: Feb. will not come soon enough.

granny: You are most likely right. BTW, I am soo glad that I have the NFL channel. Without it I would have missed seeing the 'Boys stomp Atlanta. They really need to watch the pass defense though.
